One of the highlights of the VMAs was MTV’s VIP Seating Cam capturing singer Rihanna approaching former flame Chris Brown on her way to her seat and even gave him a hug, a kiss and a rub on the head. All this was live on Internet streaming.
Rihanna was seen making a beeline for Brown before the show started and as Brown saw her coming closer, he stood up and then Rihanna kissed him on the cheek. The two hugged each other and then Rihanna went back to her seat, but not after Brown had seated and she rubbed his head as she walked away.
This was the first time the two were seen touching each other after the infamous beating incident in 2009. Both were to appear at the Grammys the night after the incident, but everything blew up right before.
The singer had recently talked about her relationship with Brown when she opened up to Oprah Winfrey through an interview. Rihanna told Oprah that she still cares about Brown and called him the love of her life.
Later that evening, TMZ caught a video of Rihanna mouthing a few words to a friend as Drake, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj and their posse walked by to accept their award. To some it looked like she was trash talking the group, but we could only speculate. Rihanna was also caught on cam not clapping for the rapper when they announced his name. She did not even turn her head or look at the rapper.
Drake and Rihanna were reportedly dating earlier this year, but broke up. The rapper and Brown were involved in a New York night club brawl, which also left Brown and many others with cuts and bruises.
