One Direction’s Second Album Skyrockets To The Top

One Direction’s Second Album Skyrockets To The TopFans don’t have to wait too long because One Direction’s sophomore album is already in the market and taking music charts by storm. In its first week, their second album, “Take Me Home” has already raked in 540,000 in sales. According to Nielsen SoundScan, it’s the third highest selling album in the U.S. this year.

The album is also doing well in the U.K and worldwide. It has debuted at No.1 in the U.K. and in over 30 countries according to Columbia Records. In an interview last Tuesday of the singing group sensation, band member Harry Styles was quoted saying, “We just want to say a massive thanks to all the fans who have supported us. We can send tweets and thank them, but 140 characters is never going to be enough.”

They have absolutely come a long way from winning the third spot on the “X Factor UK” in 2010. In just a year, they became a hit all over the world. Every where they go their fans seem to follow them around screaming for their names. They also made it to this year’s Barbara Walters’ most fascinating people list.

One Direction will start touring around the world in February. Even with their stardom, they still hope to work with other singers especially Katy Perry. Their second album currently ranks third behind Taylor Swift’s “Red” and Mumford & Sons’ “Babel” as the highest selling albums during their first week.
