Obama Goes Primetime

Barack Obama has reportedly bought a half hour of prime time television..

The Democrat hopeful’s broadcast will appear on CBS and NBC in the week running up to the American election. It will air at 8pm on Wednesday, October 29.

Political analyst Larry Sabto spoke about it to The Hollywood Reporter: “Obama’s theme is not just change but unity, so he’s appealing to the whole nation rather than a handful of tossup states.

“He wants to win the popular vote by a good margin, which will enable him to govern.”

Obama’s rival John McCain is unlikely to copy the move due to financial restraints on his campaign. McCain accepted public financing, which means he is limited in the amount of money he can raise and spend, while Obama is under no such limitations.

“There will be no second-guessing the Obama campaign on decisions involving resources,” said campaign media analyst Evan Tracey.

” They’ve got 25 days and unlimited amounts of money.”
With the amount the Democrat is spending to put his high profile face on prime time he could probably bail out a few failing banks personally.

Obama’s campaign it does seem, doesn’t want equal time, and isn’t overly concerned with freedom of speech, having written last month to several radio stations in Ohio and Pennsylvania pressuring them not to air advertisements that mention his anti gun record. Apparently freedom of speech is only for the speech that agrees with his own?

Obama will change the United States for the better! I truly believe that people who value their freedom should vote for Obama/Biden!

YOu know I just tend to disagree. I”ve likened the candidates to a Charlie Brown show… where McCain is the wishy washy Charlie Brown, Palin is Lucy and Obama is of course the erstwhile Schroeder, who knows how things are supposed to work, but doesn’t have any real world experience.. His thoughts are laudable, but both impractical and if the truth be known, dishonest.. as even those publications that are Democratic oriented admit that his comments about his plans paying for them selves are far from true.
It seems to me that the election this year is fraught with doubt from all sides.. Palin likes aerial gunning and Obama likes no gunning, and less freedom of speech.
Our choices are likely going to be defined not by what we think we will gain, but by what we don’t mind losing …

Well, I guess it all depends on how we define the word “freedom”. In my opinion, freedom is not about wars and/or not paying taxes. Freedom is about things such as being able to marry the person that you love. Freedom is being able to get a college degree regardless of how much money you (or your family) have. Freedom is women’s rights under Roe v. Wade….
