No Doubt Pulls Out New Video

No Doubt Pulls Out New Video No Doubt is back on the music scene, but so are the controversies. Just as they had released their new video, “Looking Hot”, on YouTube, complaints started to pop-up, mostly in reaction to the theme of the video. The video had sparked reactions from many Native Americans.

The band immediately addressed the issue through a statement, which they published on their website on Saturday. In their statement, they said: “As a multi-racial band, our foundation is built upon both the diversity and consideration for other cultures. Our intention with our new video was never to offend, hurt, or trivialize Native American people, their culture or their history”.

They added that the band had consulted with Native American friends and experts from the University of California and realized that they have indeed offended many people, which caused them a great concern. An apology was included in the statement and was addressed to the Native American community. Following their statement was the removal of the video from their YouTube channel.

This video that sparked such reactions was debuted on Friday with a cowboys and Indians theme. It’s their second single from their comeback album, “Push and Shove”. In the video, lead singer Gwen Stefani was dressed as a sexy Indian princess.

Even after years of disbandment, the band has managed to keep their friendship intact. Their new album and reunion has pleased many of their fans all over the world.
