An ABC Reality show contestant from Wipeout has passed away, following his participation on the show.
Tom Sparks, 33, was admitted to a Los Angeleshospital two weeks after complaining of knee pain while he was filming Entertainment Tonight reported.
Sparks was stopped by producers after he experienced an aching sensation from participating in the first part of the obstacle course. His health condition was checked out by medics, who also noted that he had a shortness of breath.
Sparks died on November 5 from a stroke. His father Bill stated that doctors believe it was brought on by a pre-existing condition called antiphospholipid antibody syndrome (APS), which causes unnatural blood clotting.
ABC and Endemol, who produced the series, released a statement that read: “We offer our heartfelt condolences to the family. This is a tragic loss and our thoughts are with them at this time.”
