Willie Nelson Facing Prison for Pot Possession

Willie Nelson Facing Prison for Pot PossessionCountry music legend Willie Nelson could still be facing prison time after a plea deal was rejected. Nelson was arrested in November after six ounces of marijuana were found on his tour bus after it was stopped by border patrol agents in Texas. The plea deal would have involved Nelson pleading guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and paying a $500 fine.

Although a plea deal was struck last month Texas Judge Becky Dean-Walker has rejected the deal, claiming Nelson was given preferential treatment. Judge Dean-Walker isn’t having giving any special treatment for celebrities, so Nelson is back to facing one year in prison.

Judge Becky Dean-Walker made her stance completely clear when she told the New York Times.

“If you’re not going to do it for the guy in the corner, why do it for a celebrity?” she went even further by saying;

“If Willie Nelson gets off with nothing, I’m not going to be part of it.”
