William Petersen aka Gil Grissom from CSI: Crime Scene Investigation has announced that he’ll be leaving the show halfway through the season.

Big Hollywood stars like Laurence Fishburne and John Malkovich have been approached to replace Petersen.

“It’s not the end of the show. There’s a lot of good stuff coming up. We’re looking for a high-profile person to come in to replace Petersen as a CSI,” a spokesperson tells the New York Post.

Gil Grissom will surely be missed…
