It has now been determined as to why Heavy D really died. Doctors have concluded that he died due to the fact that a deep leg vein thrombosis caused a pulmonary embolism. Also, it is being said that since he took the long flight from Michael Jackson’s memorial concert he was only making things worse.
For those who do not know, a pulmonary embolism is a blockage that occurs in one of more of the lung arteries. Usually, it is caused by blood clots that are in other parts of the body but travel – Heavy D’s blog clots started in his legs.
Just a few days before he passed away Heavy D was flying back from Europe where he had done a performance at Michael Jackson’s tribute concert in Wales. Workers from the LA County Coroner’s Office have also stated that Heavy D was dealing with heart disease as well. They mention that this could have been a factor that caused his death as well. However, currently his death is still being classified as “natural”.
As we may remember Heavy D was able to provide his presence to us until November 9th 2011. He was 44 years old when he passed away.
