All the buzz this morning is that Burress, 31, who last week had suffered a wound to his right thigh in “an apparent accidental shooting.” at a night club isn’t going to walk away from the issue.. The Giants indicated in the statement that they were gathering facts about the incident and had been in contact with NFL security officials, and added last week via the NY Post that the shooting “could become a matter for law enforcement officials.”
This mornings commentary states that he had not called law enforcement officials, but immediately after the shooting Linebacker Antonio Pierce called a New York Giants trainer was told where to take the wounded receiver.
A day after suspending Burress for conduct detrimental to the team, the Giants on Wednesday revealed key details.
Accorduing to TMZ, “Pierce is going to sing to a grand jury about teammate Plaxico Burress’ gun and could seal the deal against Burress.”
His lawyer says he’ll cooperate if the DA asks him to talk to a grand jury, and Pierce will reportedly meet with investigators in the DA’s office “in the next few days.”As a reward , according to the New York Post he will most likely get a pass on any concealment or conspiracy charges.
