An arrest warrant has been issued for 22-year-old actress Lindsay Lohan, the Associated Press reports.
The rumor has it that the $50,000 warrant, which was issued by the Beverly Hills Superior Court yesterday, stems from her May 2007 DUI and hit-and-run case and has something to do with her probation.
However, Lohan’s attorney has reportedly said that her client has complied with the terms of her probation and that the warrant is “born out of a misunderstanding”, which she is convinced she can clear up sometime next week.
And in an exclusive statement to the famous blogger Perez Hilton, Lohan herself says: “This warrant for my arrest is completely fabricated and it’s a horrible lie. This will make me lose every single deal that I have right now. It’s horrible.”
In August 2007, Lohan pleaded guilty to two counts of being under the influence of cocaine as well as no contest to two counts of DUI and one count of reckless driving. She ended up spending less than two hours in jail, and had to do community service and go to rehab. The “Mean Girls” star also got three year’s probation.
If she has violated her probation, she could face one year in jail on each of the DUI and cocaine charges and three months on the reckless driving charge, according to the Associated Press.
A court hearing for Lohan is scheduled for Monday.
