Two of Michael Jackson’s former tigers arereportedly being threatened by wildfires in Los Angeles.
The 65-acre Shambala Preserve, which is run by actress Tippi Hedren, mom to Melanie Griffith, has housed the late singer’s exotic felines Thriller and Sabu since 2006.
The wildfires are less than a mile away from the reserve, while the 64 animals that populate the area are expected to be evacuated, according to E!.
Thousands of area residents have already been evacuated away from blaze, which is raging in the foothills of the Angeles National Forest, sending thick billowing smoke to areas as far away as the deserts of Golden Valley and Kingman Arizona and the mountains of Denver, Colorado.
The 79-year-old Hedren was asked to move the animals earlier this week, but officials had said that the logistics of transporting the mass of animals would create chaos for local firefighters’ mobility.
It was reported in November that PETA had asked the Jackons to rescue four giraffes – which used to l;ive on Neverland Ranch – from being kept in under-sized cages in Arizona.
