The World Pays Tribute To Irish Actor Peter O’Toole



Peter-O'TooleOn Saturday evening Peter O’Toole sadly passed away aged 81, and as you would expect from one of the worlds leading actors the tributes have been pouring in. To pay our respects this morning we would like to share some of the more poignant tributes with you.

O’Toole had been ill for some time and passed away at the Wellington Hospital in London on Saturday evening aged 81. Sir Michael Gambon said, “He was a great actor. His early years were the best I thought. He was great fun to be with. He will be missed badly.”

The Irish President Michael D Higgins said, “Ireland, and the world, has lost one of the giants of film and theatre”, while fellow actor Stephen Fry said, “Oh what terrible news. Farewell Peter O’Toole. I had the honour of directing him in a scene. Monster, scholar, lover of life, genius …”

David Williams said, “I had drinks with Peter O’Toole in LA a few years ago. He was hugely entertaining. The greatest company. A legend on screen and off.” Steve Kenis was Peter O’Toole’s agent and he said, “He was one of a kind in the very best sense and a giant in his field.” The UK Prime Minister David Cameron said, “My thoughts are with Peter O’Toole’s family and friends. His performance in my favourite film, Lawrence of Arabia was stunning.”

Peter O’Toole will be sadly missed by everyone that knew him, and the staff at Hot Gossip would like to pass on their condolences to Peter O’Toole’s family and friends. RIP Peter O’Toole, one of life’s real acting legends.
