Fans of The Simpsons can breathe a huge sigh of relief as it was announced on Friday that The Simpsons will run for at least another two seasons.
“Fox has renewed ‘The Simpsons,’ the longest-running comedy in television history, for an incredible 24th and 25th season,” the network said in a statement.
As we recently reported the hit animated series future was in doubt due to a dispute with Fox and the primary voice actors. Fox had announced that it could no longer afford to keep producing the show without a pay cut of 45 percent for the main voice actors.
Reportedly the actors who are being paid $8 million in annual salaries offered to take a 30 percent pay cut in return for a share in the shows worldwide licensing, syndication and merchandising profits. But it is not yet know what kind of deal was struck to resolve the dispute.
