It looks like recruiting the famous Santa Monica interior designer Michael S. Smith to make the White House more Obama-like, might be First Lady-to-be Michelle Obama’s first big decision.
The Washington Post reports that President Elect Barack Obama and his wife Michelle are using the same interior designer as former supermodel Cindy Crawford, actor Dustin Hoffman and director Steven Spielberg to decorate their new crib – The White House.
“Michael shares my vision for creating a family friendly feel to our new home and incorporating some new perspectives from some of America’s greatest artists and designers,” Michelle Obama says in a statement announcing the appointment.
Smith has reportedly said that he will be decorating the White House based on the Obama family’s “casual style” in order to make the residence feel more like their home.
He is currently working on 7-year-old Sasha and 10-year-old Malia’s bedrooms, according to Usmagazine.com.
I wish they could just paint the whole White House pink instead. How great wouldn’t that be… “You have the honor to meet the President at the Pink House” 🙂
