Rumor has been verified. The songs she’d written seemed to intimate that that Sarah McLachlan has split with her husband, Ashwin Sood, who plays drums for the band.
According to Billboard .com Sara released the news this week telling the site that her new songs were about the breakup.
“I’m separating from my husband, so these are the songs about that,” she told Billboard.com, “U Want Me 2” and “Don’t Give Up on Us,” which are found on the new album Closer.
“I wasn’t planning on saying anything,” and added that the breakup was something she termed “pretty gross” (wonder what THAT means??). “But it’s gonna come out at some point. I haven’t said anything about it because I’ve been terrified to, but I figure … there’s no good time to say it, so I just said it.”
She and her husband have been married eleven years.
