Slumdog Millionaire Child Actor Given New Home

Slumdog Millionaire actor Azhauddin Ismail, who played the young Salim, has  a new home in Mumbai.

The 250ft apartment was bought by Jai Ho Trust,  set up by director Danny Boyle and producer Christian Coulson.

The young actor will be given the title to the  home when he turns 18. He said: “I like it here, it is really nice. But I will miss my old friends back in Bandra. Maybe I will go and visit them once a while.” Ismail and co-star Rubina Ali were made homeless in May, following the demolishing of slums by city authorities.

Back then Boyle said: “They were given access to a world, an extraordinary and glamorous world, and they understandably want their lives to be completely transformed. “The homes are a concern. That is one of the reasons why we built the trust.”
