One Tree Hill star Antwon Tanner has been sentenced to prison following a fake identity scam.
In April 2009, Tannerwas charged with selling 16 social security numbers and three fake social security cards.
He pleaded guilty to selling more than a dozen social security numbers for $10,000 and got a three month prison sentence. Yet another example of the special treatment that a star might receive for effectively encouraging and facilitating identity theft?.
Newsday says that a Brooklyn judge ordered the 34-year-old actor to report to prison , where he will serve out a sentence and after he is released he gets five months in home “prison”.
He has described the incident as “an embarrassment” to his family and fans. (No kidding?) His attorney blames the whole thing on stupidity… we’d add “greed” to that description.
