Sir Paul Doesn’t Back Down

In spite of threats against his safety, Paul McCartney landed in  Israel  and gave the  go-ahead to a concert he is doing tomorrow that has brought some real controversy to the area.

The Ex-Beatle told his multiple fans after his arrival at  Ben Guiron airport that he was here to bring “a message of peace and love” to the Middle East, according to Israeli Public radio.

Protesters had asked the 66-year-old to cancel his first ever gig in the country, because of Israel’s occupation of the West Bank.

In spite of the threats, however he is determined that his show is going to take place.

The Beatles had a show scheduled in Israel in 1965, however the country’s government cancelled it..  their reasons: fears that it could corrupt the nation’s youth.

Does it strike anyone besides us as odd that a country who thinks its okay to threaten someone’s life over a concert, is concerned about the people being corrupted??

Tomorrow’s concert which will be in Tel Aviv in honour of Israel’s 60th birthday,  has been rumored to be drawing more than 50,000 fans.

Security around McCartney is reported to be tight.
