Pop legend Sir Elton John was forced to cancel the remaining dates of his European tour last week after he walked off stage in Germany with stomach pains, pains that he thought was food poisoning, but yesterday he revealed that he was actually suffering from appendicitis and is “lucky to be alive.”
Sir Elton, 66, spoke to the Sun Newspaper about his ordeal. He said, “I’m lucky to be alive. I was a ticking time bomb. I guess I could have died at any time. I feel so lucky and so grateful to be alive. I played nine gigs and the White Tie and Tiara Summer Ball in agony.”
Elton is now at home recuperating and will undergo surgery once the swelling has reduced around the infected area. A close family friend told the Sun Newspaper the following this morning, “Elton is over the worst but is still very sick. It’s been a horrible ordeal. He hates not being able to do gigs he was booked for. But there’s no way fans will blame him considering the ordeal he’s just been through.”
Indeed they won’t blame him at all, in fact he is sure to receive plenty of get well messages as a result of his unfortunate illness. Everyone here at Hot Gossip would like to send Sir Elton and his family their warmest wishes and hope that he is back on stage sooner rather than later.
