Fans of reality singing shows on TV will find themselves torn between two of the most awaited singing shows this fall. On September 2nd, the second season of “The X Factor” is slated to make its premiere on Fox. NBC’s “The Voice” will be airing its third night on the same time slot and “X Factor” boss Simon Cowell is definitely not pleased.
“It is a spoiling tactic and it’s very simple that they don’t want people to see this first episode,” Cowell said to reporters on Thursday for a press conference. The “X Factor” will be dueling with “The Voice” on its first week and Cowell thinks it’s “mean-spirited”. He said in a statement, “I hope and I pray that it backfires on them because this is one of the best shows we’ve ever made.”
Cowell said he’s pissed off about the decision because as he said, “I think there’s kind of a gentlemen’s agreement, but you have to rely that the viewers will make the right selection.” He also added that the three-night premiere for “The Voice” is “too much” for viewers.
He believes that “X Faactor” will win the battle in ratings as he said that he’s hoping the show takes the crown with the help of the viewers’ eagerness to see Britney Spears and Demi Lovato as TV mentors and judges.
“The X Factor” Season 2 will be premiering on Fox on September 12-13 at 8/7c. “The Voice” will be having their three-day premiere of their second season on September 10-12 with the same time slot on NBC.
