Simon Cowell and his girlfriend Lauren Silverman hosted a baby shower at the weekend, an event that was attended by around 40 invited guests and the couples immediate families. Simon couldn’t help himself in saying a few words and said that Lauren is a very Lucky girl to have found someone like himself. Nothing quite blowing your own trumpet is there Simon!
The event was held at Cowell’s mansion in Beverley Hills, and the invited guests even included two of Simon’s previous girlfriends, Terri Seymour and Mezhgan Hussainy. In a speech Cowell said, “It’s been a difficult year in many ways, but now I’m really excited about next year and seeing the birth of little Simon, due at the end of February.”
Cowell was quick to pay tribute to the boyband One Direction too as he said, “I would like to say a big thank you to One Direction as without them you would all be eating sausage rolls tonight.” According to a source at the party guests were given the best food and drink money can buy, with delicacies like Foie Gras being served during the course of the afternoon.
Cowell, 54, finished off by saying, “I would like to say a special thank you to Lauren for all she’s done to help change my life. I think she is a very lucky girl to have found me.”
Perhaps Simon Cowell is lucky to have found Lauren Silverman and not the other way round as he puts it! One thing is for sure he is going to make a great dad for “little Simon” despite his big ego!
