Sharon Stone took a few moments to honor Natasha Richardson at a charity event in Cannes on Thursday night.
The 51-year-old hosted the amfAR’s annual Cinema Against AIDS function, where she spoke of a few moments and remembered Richardson’s contributions as reported by People.
“This year we lost an angel from our amfAR family. It was one of those random events that leaves you in a state of shock and profound grief,” Stone said of Richardson’s death.
She continued: “People say, ‘Oh, she can’t really have been that great or graceful’. She was that funny, charming, sweet and elegant. She was. She left behind her husband and two stunningly beautiful children and an unfinished mission to help us find a cure for AIDS.”
Stone read a note from Richardson’s husband, actor Liam Neeson, urging everyone to continue the charity’s “great work”.
Richardson passed away two months ago in March from a head injury sustained in a skiing accident, at age 45.
