We all didn’t see this split coming.
After dating for about a year and a half, the 52 year old actor and 39 year old actress have reportedly called it quits and have gone their separate ways. They were last spotted at the Mad Max: Road Fury premiere in Los Angeles on May 16th, looking more in love than ever, so it comes as a little bit of a shock to the fans of the couple. Witnesses say that Penn was extremely attentive to his South African beauty, and they were sneaking kisses the whole time.
There were reports earlier this year, in February, that the couple was ready to live together and even spotted house hunting together. In May, Penn also listed his 6.5 million dollar Malibu private estate for sale. However, even after engagement rumors and rumors that the couple committed to staying together for the rest of their lives, Penn had said he does not know if the relationship would end up in marriage. As for Theron, she had said that she loves the possibility of anything happening, but she is extremely content with where she is with her family and friends and she is just a very lucky, very very happy, woman with Penn. She has also stated that she had been friends with the Milk star for twenty years and that is where the relationship stemmed from mostly, a great friendship.
However, even after stating he was not sure that their relationship would end up in marriage, Penn declared that he was in love with Charlize Theron and that he would of course marry again – after having two marriages previously, one being to Madonna – he stated “yes, I would get married again. I’m in love with a woman and home is where the heart is, right?”
After what seemed to be a fantastic year and a half long relationship for the both of them, it is a little devastatingly surprising for all of the Sean Penn and Charlize Theron fans out there to see that they have decided to split and have gone their separate ways.
