Sarah Palin spent Saturday sorting clothes

Sarah Palin

The Associated Press reports that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s father, Chuck Heath, told them that his daughter spent Saturday going through her clothes, trying to figure out what belongs to the Republican Party after they reportedly spent more than $150,000 on her wardrobe for the election.

(As many of you probably remember, both Sarah Palin and Republican presidential hopeful John McCain were widely criticized after it was revealed that the Republican Party had spent tens of thousands of dollars on designer clothes for Palin from stores such as Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue.)

One McCain/Palin campaign aide has now told Newsweek that he/she estimates that Palin actually spent tens of thousands more on clothes and accessories than the reported $150,000, and that between $20,000 and $40,000 in fact were spent on clothes for Palin’s husband (!).

An anonymous McCain/Palin campaign official has told the Associated Press that Republican National Committee lawyers have been talking to Palin about whether the clothes should go back to the stores, be given to charity or if Palin should pay for them herself.

On Friday, Palin admitted to reporters: “Those are the RNC’s clothes. They’re not my clothes. I never forced anybody to buy anything.”

Sure, Palin probably didn’t hold a gun to her assistants’ heads, but the truth is that the Republican Party spent thousands of dollars on clothes and accessories for her – a shopping spree which one campaign aide characterized as “Wasilla hillbillies looting Neiman Marcus from coast to coast”, according to Newsweek.

What do you think? Should all the clothes be returned to the stores or given to charity? Should Palin have to pay for any of the clothes? Why? Why not?

I personally think its retarded that we even comment on this in the news.. Do we know how much “Hollywood” Obama spent on his wardrobe? Enough with the one sided reporting and peeking into someones closet.. The election is over.. Lets see if Obama keeps half the promises he made and turns the US into something to be proud of. Thats where the real news is.
