Former VP candidate Sarah Palin is criticizing President Barack Obama for the Special Olympics joke he made on ”The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” Thursday, the Telegraph reports.
On the show, President Obama joked about his poor bowling skills and said that his bowling was like the Special Olympics or something. However, President Obama realized that he had made a thoughtless remark and called the Special Olympics chairman Tim Shriver even before the interview aired, to both apologize and invite some of the association’s bowlers to the White House (which has its own bowling alley).
Sarah Palin, who has a young son with Down syndrome, has said that she was “shocked” by the “degrading remark about our world’s most precious and unique people, coming from the most powerful position in the world”.
Someone NEEDS to slam him. He would be the first one screaming bloody murder about a racial slur or anything else, and to go on national television and thoughtlessly add to the stigma of an already slurred group of people is cruel beyond compare… those are words he can’t take back if he says sorry a hundred times.
How utterly thoughtless. Heres hoping his mind works a bit better and faster than that when it comes to international relations.
