Swiss tennis star Roger Federer took to his blog yesterday to announce that his girlfriend, Miroslava “Mirka” Vavrinec, is pregnant with their first child.
Federer writes on his blog: “… Mirka and I are excited to let you know that we will be parents this summer! Mirka is pregnant and we are so happy to be starting a family together. This is a dream come true for us. We love children and we are looking forward to being parents for the first time. Mirka is feeling great and everything is going well.”
Federer, who is currently ranked World No. 2, has been dating former Women’s Tennis Association player Mirka since the 2000 Sydney Olympics, where they met while representing Switzerland in tennis.
Mirka, who retired in 2002 because of an injury, has since then been working as Federer’s PR manager.
