Pop sensation Rihanna had to cancel her latest tour date in Boston due to a bout of laryngitis. The news will have come as a great disappointment to her legion of fans, and at the time of writing it remains unclear when she will be able to perform again.
A spokesperson for Live Nation had the following to say about the unfortunate circumstances, “Unfortunately, following her sold out concert on Friday, Rihanna has contracted laryngitis and per doctor’s instructions is unable to perform this evening.”
Rihanna, 25, took to her Twitter page to say sorry to her fans and tweeted the following, “Boston this is the hardest thing for me to deal with! I feel like we’ve been waiting on this day forever, and I’m hurt that I let you down.”
She also tweeted, “I hate disappointing people that never ever let me down! I’m so embarrassed about this! Thank you for your prayers and well wishes!”
Laryngitis can be extremely unpleasant and with 68 tour dates still to fill, of the 70 scheduled of her Diamonds World Tour, it remains unclear when she will be performing again. The news comes just a few days after Justin Bieber let down thousands of fans in London when he walked off stage due to a shortage of breath.
Lets hope Rihanna is feeling better soon and she’s back on stage doing what she does best, singing and performing.
