When it comes to household names they do not come much bigger than pop star Rihanna, as she is a stunning, beautiful, fit and extremely talented young woman, oh and she is estimated to be worth around a cool $90million too! Not bad for a once flat chested, spotty teenage girl who was not allowed to date boys until she was 16!
Rihanna has been speaking to Teen VOGUE Magazine about her life both past and present. She started off by saying, “I wasn’t allowed to date. At 13 my mom would tell me, ‘You can have a boyfriend when you’re 16!’ And then at 16 she’d say, ‘I never said that – and as a matter of fact, it’s 40!’”
You can’t beat an over protective Mother can you, but it looks as though it never did Rihanna any harm listening to her Mother’s advice, but according to the “Umbrella” hit maker boys stayed well clear because she had a flat chest and terrible skin. You wouldn’t have thought that to look at her now would you.
As Rihanna moves on to the next stage of her life she is now looking to give something back to those who find themselves in less fortunate situations, and she is supporting the M.A.C AIDS Fund, an organisation that has so far raised in the region of $300million to fight Aids and HIV. On her involvement with the M.A.C AIDS Fund Rihanna said, “I’ve been around so many people who have been affected by HIV and AIDS. It’s my turn to spread awareness. Because when people don’t talk about this, they feel like it’s not happening.”
It is always good to see celebrities like Rihanna giving something back, and the world would surely be a much better place if everyone would follow her example.
