Redmond O’Neal sent to rehab instead of jail

Redmond O’Neal

Redmond O’Neal was admitted to an intensive drug rehabilitation program in Los Angeles yesterday, which could keep him out of jail, Reuters reports.

The 24-year-old son of Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O’Neal was told by the court that he had “an opportunity to change your life” by entering the program. If O’Neal fails to complete the drug program, which will last about a year and include both counseling and drug tests, he could face up to four years in prison, according to CNN.

During the last year alone, O’Neal has been arrested several times for drug possession and DUI. The last time he ended up behind bars, he managed to get busted for allegedly trying to bring drugs into a jail.
