Pulp Fiction Writer Pleads Not Guilty to Manslaughter

Pulp Fiction writer Roger Avary has pleaded not guilty to vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence of alcohol.

The Oscar winning writer was behind the wheel of a car that crashed in January of this year, killing his friend and injuring his wife.

Avary is alleged to have been under the influence when his Mercedes Sedan hit a telephone pole.

Avary, a 43-year-old, pleaded not guilty to the charges  at a Ventura, California courthouse on Friday.

“His lawyer told the court that Avary had apologised for the accident and was grief stricken over the death of his friend, Andreas Zedini, who had been visiting from Italy. ”

Avary won the 1995 Academy Award for screenwriting, with Quentin Tarantino, for the script to Pulp Fiction.
