After weeks of speculation, Kensington Palace finally confirmed that Prince William and Kate Middleton are expecting their third child.
The Royal Family Expecting a New Addition
The couple, who got married in 2011, announced the baby news just last week after the Duchess of Cambridge had to end her planned royal engagement at the Hornsey Road Children’s Centre in London due to Hyperemesis Gravidarum, acute morning sickness, something she was hospitalized for during her first two pregnancies. Kate is being cared for at Kensington Palace.
Mr Mahantesh Karoshi, gynaecologist and obstetrician, has explained that women who suffer from severe morning sickness during their first pregnancy are likely to experience it in subsequent ones. Morning sickness and vomiting can get progressively worse but for now, there’s no need for hospitalization. Kate is craving spicy food and sweets according to sources close to the couple.
Baby Names Already in Speculation
The 35-year-old royal is already a mom of two, four-year-old Prince George and two-year-old Princess Charlotte. The royal-family fans and betting operators have already gone into frenzy about the baby name although it is not yet familiar whether it is a boy or a girl.
For now, leading in pools are Alice or Victoria for a girl and Henry or Arthur for a boy. Although Victoria was the name of Britain’s second most reigning monarch, Alice was the name of Queen Victoria’s daughter and Prince Philip’s mother.
Also, Kate wrote a dissertation about Alice in Wonderland so bookmakers believe that’s an important name for Kate. Arthur is William’s second name and the last prominent king was Prince Arthur, Queen Victoria’s son. Henry is the name of eight previous kings of England and also the first name of Prince Harry. We’ll just have to wait and see which name the famous couple will choose and whether the bookmakers were right.
The Duke and Duchess will most likely chose a strong but “down-to-earth“ name, royal by tradition and solid in heritage, uncommon to hear being called in the local playground.
The Queen Supports Kate’s Pregnancy
This baby will be fifth in line to the British throne and the Queen’s sixth great-grandchild. The Queen is said to be delighted Kate and William are expecting again.
The insider explained: “Kate has talked to Queen Elizabeth about her motherhood plans, and she has been incredibly supportive. Her majesty is just delighted that Kate has turned out to be such a star for the royal family. After all the scandals from the past, the queen is glad Kate has brought stability to the family.”
And Prince Harry, the brother of William, can’t wait to become an uncle again. The baby No 3 is expected in March next year.
