On the last day of the Hop Farm Festival that took place on July 3, 2011 located in Paddock Wood, United Kingdom Prince headlined the main stage.

Prescription painkillers were found on Prince’s possession as well as in his home when he died, the federal law enforcement officials stated on Wednesday April 27, 2016.

At Prince’s Paisley Park compound that is located in Chanhassen, Minnesota this iconic musician was found dead while in an elevator, on the morning of April 21, 2016, at the age of 57.

Officials stated that the Carver County Sheriff’s Department has asked that the Drug Enforcement Administration for their help in this investigation.  The role that the DEA would play within this investigation would be to help in the determination of what prescriptions Prince purchased as well as where they were purchased from.

Officials did not at this time state that these prescription medications played any role in the death of the “Purple Rain” singer.

An autopsy was completed on Friday, April 22, 2016, but the results are still in a pending state.  Authorities have stated in a press release on the same day that it could take weeks before any results would be released, due to the fact that they are running a full panel of various tests which does include toxicology as well as tissue sample test, in order to determine the cause of his death.

Sheriff Jim Olson did state that there were no signs of trauma on the body, as well as that they did not suspect a suicide.  It was also stated that the county’s medical responders did not use Narcan which is an emergency treatment in order to reverse a drug overdose as they responded to the 911 call on April 21, 2016.
