Joaquin Phoenix threw a curve ball to his viewers with his extremely bizarre behavior that took place during an appearance on The David Letterman Show.
The Gladiator actor, who (and yes.. supposedly he’s serious) recently quit movies for music, very often slurred, didn’t respond and didn’t understand the questions while there to promote Two Lovers, his newest film.
Dressed entirely in black and wearing dark sunglasses, Phoenix seemed to be genuinely confused as Letterman threw questions at him, even seeming to forget the name of his co-star Gwyneth Paltrow.
Letterman, who was actually visibly very frustrated, first tried to lighten things up a little bit by bantering, “What can you tell us about your days with the uni bomber?”, which compelled laughter from the audience but got minimal response from Phoenix
Discussing his decision to take some time off movies, Letterman quipped: “Some believe you’re taking a little time off tonight!”
The host ended Phoenix’s appearance by saying: “Joaquin, I’m sorry you couldn’t be here tonight.”
