Perez Hilton kicked it up and said sorry for using an anti-gay slur during an argument with Black Eyed Peas rapper will.i.am.
The celebrity blogger whas been critiqued by The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) for calling will.i.am a “f**got” during a confrontation at an awards ceremony in Toronto. He was later allegedly assaulted by the group’s tour manager Polo Molina.
Originally Perez, believing that he was in charge of it all, refused to apologize and in fact said that the organization owed HIM an apology.
Since then, apparently the depth of animosity that the celebrity world holds for him began to sink in.His statement reads “Words can hurt. I know that very well, from both sides of the fence. The other night in Toronto, after feeling physically threatened by a verbally abusive will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas, I chose the most hurtful word I know to hurl at him. I was in an out-of-the-ordinary situation and used a word that I would not utter under normal circumstances.
Yeah yeah.. backpedaling … Frankly, if the word wasn’t one you normally use, it doesn’t generally spring to your lips in a tight situation. We’ve got some questions about Perez commitment to gays.
