The 42-year-old McDreamy star from Grey’s Anatomy donated $250,000 to Central Maine Medical Center for a brand new cancer center.

The new facility will be called The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing and opens up on March 31. The donation is inspired by his mother Amanda Dempsey that was treated for ovarian cancer three times at the medical center and is now cancer-free.

The new facility will also be managed by his sister, Mary Dempsey, who currently works at the hospital.
