The location of a more than a million dollar eco home which was designed by Jade Jagger has been changed following the discovery of a rare orchid.
The house is one of 58 being built in the Cotswolds by ‘The Lakes By Yoo’, property developers that have their interiors designed by Jade Jagger and Sophie Conran.
The discovery of the Epipactis phyllanthes, or Green-flowered Helleborine, has meant one of the houses has been moved, reports The Telegraph.
Ben Pollard, landscape and ecology manager at The Lakes, said: “It’s a recorded ‘nationally scarce’ orchid which is a really exciting find. There were 20 plants in a small spot in wet, shady grass at the corner of one of the lakes.
“We agreed with Cotswold District Council planners that it would be too much of a risk so we moved the house instead. The orchid was the winner.”
