Oksana Grigorieva, you know Mel Gibson’s ex-girlfriend, reportedly turned down $15 million dollars to keep the tapes of Gibson’s ranting, secret. Supposedly, she signed an agreement to keep the tapes underwraps but then reneged.
Oksana would have reportedly received not only $15 million but also a home, child support and additional assets. The agreement stated that if Oksana accepted it, she would be forced to keep quiet.
Mel’s lawyers were aware of some of the tapes released exsisted but not all of them. They did not know about the one which featured Mel screaming the racial slurs. Things may have turned out differently if they did.
Both parties signed a short form of the agreement. However, Oksana balked at the agreement’s long form. The tapes were subsequently released and well, here we are. Wonder what Oksana will get now, if anything aside from child support. I guess it will depend on how generous Mel feels or what else she has on Mel.
