Congratulations are in order for Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied for tying the knot over the weekend. The couple had reportedly tied the knot in a private Jewish ceremony in a home near Big Sur in California on Saturday evening. They said the wedding took place beneath a chuppah at 8 PM.
Their wedding was a very private one and was attended by one hundred guests, all of which were family and friends. It was reported that part of the guest list was child star Macaulay Culkin and heiress Ivanka Trump.
The 31-year old Academy winning actress married her fiancé of over two years, whom she has a son with. Portman met Millepied, 35, when he choreographed and co-starred in the film ‘Black Swan’, which won Portman her Academy Award. Their son was named after the first Hebrew alphabet.
In December of 2010, she confirmed that she and Millepied got engaged and were expecting a child together. She gave birth to son Aleph in June of 2011. Portman and Millepied were rumored to have secretly been married in February as they were already spotted wearing wedding bands at the Academy Awards, but there was no truth to the rumor.
Before winning her Oscar Award, Portman was quoted from a very memorable acceptance speech she gave at the Golden Globes where she had publicly mentioned Millepied.
