Most Memorable Year On Dancing With The Stars

Everybody has that one year that defines them. The celebrities on Dancing With The Stars let us in on their most memorable year during the fourth week of competition. Some were sad years while others were a mix of sad and happy and a few were even years that had empowered them. It surely was an emotional night that was most definitely full of surprises.

Of all ten partnerships, four celebrities really stood out during the fourth week. First performance that was truly shocking was Chris Soules’ Rumba dance to The Book Of Love with Witney Carson. Chris’s most memorable year was touching. He met his fiancee, Whitney, this past year on The Bachelor and dedicated his dance to her. However, this dedicated dance felt a little bit distant from the Witney in front of him. They ended up getting a little bit of harsh criticism from the judges, and the lowest scores of the night at just 27 points.

Willow Shields and Mark Ballas’s contemporary performance to Atlas blew the judges away. Willow Shields’s most memorable year was the year she was cast as Primrose Everdeen in The Hunger Games movies, so it was only fitting that they did their dance to the theme of the arena during the games. Willow Shields is the youngest contestant to ever be on Dancing With The Stars, but her age does not make her not a serious contender for the mirror ball trophy. She scored the highest score of the season yet, one point shy from having a perfect 40!

Another performance that ripped your heart in pieces and then glued it back together was from Noah Galloway. His most memorable year was the year that he was on a tour of duty and hit a roadside bomb that resulted in the loss of two of his limbs. After he lost his limbs he was on a downward spiral, turning to alcohol. He stated that he turned his life around because he “quit looking at what I was missing and paid more attention to what I still had left”. Noah Galloway and Sharna Burgess’s contemporary dance to the song American Soldier earned them an impressive 32 out of 40 points.

The last performance that really stood out was Michael Sam’s. His most memorable year was when he became the first openly gay professional football player to be drafted by the NFL. His story was most definitely bittersweet though. The same year he came out as gay, his father cut all ties to him. Michael Sam and Peta Murgatroyd danced a Rumba to the song I’m Not My Father’s Son. Despite the judges praise about how much better he was doing this week, and racking up a great score of 30 out of 40, he was eliminated at the end of the night.
