‘Modern Family’ Kid Earns More by Moonlighting In Movies

‘Modern Family’ Kid Earns More by Moonlighting In MoviesDespite the success of hit TV sitcom ‘Modern Family’, one of the younger actresses in the cast tries to earn more money through moonlighting in movies. Ariel Winter is earning more than just her steady paycheck from the sitcom at a young age of 14. One of the movies she has appeared in was last year’s TV movie, “Fred 2: Night of the Living Fred”. She had earned $3,000 from that gig alone.

Age was not going to be a hindrance for Ariel, who plays Alex Dunphy, the Dunphy’s brainy daughter on ‘Modern Family’. She took part in the Nickelodeon TV movie “Fred 2: Night of the Living Fred” while the sitcom was on a break. Legal documents have shown that with her appearance as Talia on ‘Fred:The Show’, she was paid $2,808 per week. The number of weeks she appeared on the show though is unclear.

Every episode that Winter appears on ‘Modern Family’ earns her a reported $10,000 – $15,000. With every renegotiation, they say, the price seems to keep on increasing. The show is not her first appearance on TV. She has been appearing on TV and movies since 2005, when she was only seven years old.

Winter has appeared on countless TV shows like ‘Criminal Minds’, ‘Bones’, ‘ER’, and ‘Ghost Whisperer’ to name a few. She has also lent her voice to show and movies like ‘Phineas and Ferb’ (both TV and movie), ‘Final Fantasy VII’ and the recent ‘The Dark Knight Rises Part 1’ where she was featured as Carrie Kelly and Robin’s voices in the movie. Winter has also been a voice talent since 2006, at a young age of eight.
