Mitch Mitchell, Legendary Rock Drummer Dies at 61



Mitch Mitchell, who is renowned for being the  drummer with the Jimi Hendrix Experience, has  died  the age of 61.

Mitchell, who was  also the last member of the critically acclaimed rock act known as the Hendrix Experience was found dead in a hotel room in Portland Oregon yesterday.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience released their acclaimed albums in the late sixties and early seventies, and they included Are You Experienced? and Electric Ladyland.

The much vaunted Hendrix died in 1970, while bass player Noel Redding passed away in 2003.

Mitchell, who also performed with John Lennon, Keith Richards and The Pretty Things, was world famous for his drumming style, which used aspects of  jazz and rock and roll as its influence.

It is believed that he  died of natural causes.

    Mitch was in the top 3 greartest drummers of all time
    I play in a copy band and we play “Fire” and I tell you trying to copy him is hell.He and Keith influenced so me much.
    He will be missed
