This Texas Ranger star has learned that he never needs to do business with friends the hard way.
The catcher for the Texas Rangers – Mike Napoli – has basically screwed his friend Willie McCoy – whom he has been friends with since the two of them were seven. Willie McCoy was kind enough to give Mike Napoli three strikes and he has finally reached the third strike.
The first thing that Mike Napoli did to piss off McCoy was to skip out on autograph signing at one of the Florida sports memorabilia shops just two weeks before he was scheduled to show. Not to mention the fact that this event that was being hosted was being held at his lifetime friends Willie McCoy’s shop – obviously Willie thought Mike was someone that he could truly depend on.
Third, due to Mike not showing for McCoy’s event he caused him to have some major financial trouble. In fact, McCoy says that because of Mike’s last minute stunt he did not even have enough money to stock his store for the holiday season.
Willie McCoy is suing Mike for all of the money that he had to spend preparing for the event that he skipped out on – over $4K.
