This was supposed to be Melania’s shining moment, all expectations were set high as Melania Trump stepped on stage during the Republican National Convention in order to deliver her speech to the delegates on Monday, July 18, 2016. But, instead this potential first lady ended up becoming the headline for all of the wrong reasons.
Very shortly after the wife of Donald Trump the Republican presidential candidate stepped off the stage to the sound of applause, Jarrett Hall who is a writer gave notice on twitter that there were many similarities between the address that the current first lady Michelle Obama gave while at the Democratic National Convention during the year of 2008 and the speech that this former model just delivered.
Jarrett Hall tweeted that Melania must have really like Michelle’s speech due to the fact that she plagiarized it. He then followed that tweet by stating in another tweet that he was to be corrected: Melania stole the whole paragraph from the speech that Michelle gave.
The section of the speech that is in questioned is about being raised with solid values, While the speech that Melania gave was not word for word as Michelle’s speech, the theme as well as many of the words were astonishingly alike.
In Melania’s speech she stated “My parents impressed on me the values that you work hard for what you want in life; that your word is your bond and you do what you say and keep your promise; that you treat people with respect.”
Michelle stated in her speech “Barack and I were raised with so many of the same values: that you work hard for what you want in life; that your word is your bond and you do what you say you’re going to do; that you treat people with dignity and respect.”
These two sentences are almost identical.
