Michael Jackson, 50, is currently suffering from a severe skin infection, which is threatening to eat his flesh, according to the British tabloid The Sun.
The King of Pop has reportedly been receiving antibiotics to fight off the infection, which one source claims has already spread throughout his body.
A source told The Sun yesterday that “Michael Jackson has a severe staph infection that he contracted during work to reconstruct his nose”. The source also claimed that the infection “could turn into a flesh-eating disorder where it begins to kill off his skin.”
The singer has been seen visiting a Beverly Hills clinic twice this week and paparazzi shots reveal he has inflamed and irritated skin on both his face and his hands.
A famous plastic surgeon by the name of Dr. Anthony Youn, who have not treated Jackson but looked at the photographs, has said that it is possible the singer has a staph infection or MRSA, which is a very aggressive infection. “In some worse cases surgeons will have to remove the infected tissue if it dies — leaving the patient needing major reconstructive surgery. It is particularly worrying if it is on the face,” Youn is quoted as saying by The Sun.
