It’s been reported that Michael Jackson and Broadway producer James L. Nederlander are planning a Broadway musical based on the classic music video “Thriller”.
However, the original “Thriller” co-writer/ director John Landis is now suing Michael Jackson and James L. Nederlander, claiming that they lack the proper rights to adapt a stage production based on “Thriller.”
The suit also states that Jackson has not paid Landis the agreed 50 percent of the profits from “Thriller” projects for the last 4 years.
The AP reports that Landis’ lawyer has stated that the director would seek to stop the show “if it becomes necessary.”
Poor MJ…he really needed that money to pay his previous lawsuits.
