Despite all the recent online reports, Michael Jackson is apparently not a victim of a rare respiratory disease and does not require a lung transplant – at least not according to his physician, Dr. Tohme Tohme.
The rumor that Jackson, 50, is suffering from emphysema, internal bleeding, that he can barely speak and that he has lost 95 percent of the vision in his left eye, was according to BBC News started by writer Ian Halperlin who is working on an unauthorized biography about the star.
In a statement issued to Reuters, Dr. Tohme Tohme says:
“The writer’s [Halperin’s] wild allegations concerning Mr. Jackson’s health are a total fabrication. Mr. Jackson is in fine health and finalizing negotiations with a major entertainment company and television network for both a world tour and a series of specials and appearances.”
The rumor has it that The King of Pop is currently recording songs for a new album in Las Vegas and is planning a 30-date tour in 30 cities around the world next year.
