Mel Gibson is officially eligible again ladies. His divorce decree has been signed by a judge. Mel and his wife have been trying to come to a decision about the financial settlement for over a year and now they have finally reached a conclusion.
However, it is important to remember that there was no prenup involved and they were married for 28 years – this is not including the time that they were separated. We have been informed that even though the Gibson’s are worth $900 million the court concluded that their net worth is less.
Robyn filed for divorce back in 2009 even though they had been separated since 2006. It seems as though she was sure she no longer wanted Mel after she was informed that his girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva was expecting a child. Surprisingly, it seems as though the two stayed on good terms however. We have even been told that Robyn was the one who wrote a letter of support for Mel when he was going through it with Oksana Grigorieva. She stated that she could vouch for Mel when it came to being married to him for years and never witnessing him striking any family member.
Their situation shows that all divorces do not have to be painful.
