Mel B Granted Restraining Order Against Aussie Paparazzo

Mel B Granted Restraining Order Against Aussie PaparazzoSpice Girl Mel B, aka Scary Spice, was granted a restraining order against a paparazzo who she claims as having endangered her life and threatened her husband, Stephen Belafonte.

A court judge from Waverley has ordered that photographer Jamie Fawcett will not be allowed anywhere within 160 feet away from the 37-year-old singer. Melanie Brown and her husband now reside in Sydney, Australia as the singer is one of the judges of “X Factor Australia”.

During the hearing, Mel B had recounted to the court how the photographer had ambushed her while on a kayak in Sydney Harbor just last week. Fawcett’s boat reportedly stirred up big waves while he circled the singer and her personal assistant to take the singer’s pictures. This resulted to an argument between the paparazzo and Belafonte. It was in this argument that Fawcett allegedly threatened Belafonte.

Fawcett did not appear during the proceeding, but was represented by his lawyer, Roland Day. Day informed the judge that only the singer’s version had been presented in court. But he consented to the restraining order anyway. A local Australian newspaper said he had evidence showing that the accusations were wrongful, but agreed to honor the court order.

The court order will be effective until the next hearing scheduled on Nov 22. Fawcett is the same paparazzo Nicole Kidman had accused of planting a listening device outside her home in Sydney.
