Madonna’s Sticky and Sweet Tour just saw a bit of the sticky side of London legalities, eating into concert profits as well.
When the tour came to visit London on September 11, the artist was told that the concert had to be wrapped up by 10:30, and since Madge was due to go on stage at 8:30, it was all go.
When she didn’t show up on stage til ten past nine, the concert ran over quite a bit. Forty odd minutes to be exact, with the fine getting a little hefty.
The Sun reported yesterday that Madonna was fined about fifty THOUSAND pounds(92,000 USD) for every fifteen minutes past the stadium curfew, for a hefty chunk of about 250,000 dollars.
In reality, compared to what the tour gleaned for the singer, it was probably a drop in the bucket.
Apparently the songstress’ people knew about the fine going it, so hopefully it won’t come as a big shock.
