Lil Wayne announces baby news at the BET Hip-Hop Awards

Rapper Lil Wayne (real name Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr.) announced Saturday night (Oct. 18) during the BET Hip-Hop Awards that he is having his first son in just a few days.

The 26-year-old rapper from New Orleans was onstage accepting the Lyricist of the Year Award when he told the crowd the great news, MTV.com reports.

Lil Wayne already has a 9-year-old daughter named Reginae Carter with his high school sweetheart/ex-wife Antonia “Toya” Johnson.

Besides the Lyricist of the Year Award, the rapper (who by the way had been nominated for 12 awards) also won the MVP of the Year Award and the People’s Champ Award.
